Today I got a card from my mother.

Today I got a card from my mother. It surprised me because there was no holiday in sight. I opened the envelope curious of what I would find. I wasn’t expecting what I did find. My mother had written that she had been thinking of me and got the inspiration to write a poem. I did not realize my mother wrote poems. I found it quit sentimental and had to post to here to share.

A POEM TO MY FIRTH BORN

By Nancy Rupp

October sky, autumn breeze,
Winds of love in the trees.

Growing child of our love,
A blessed gift from above.

A darling daughter she is nee,
Eye as blue as the sea.

Perfect gift I do behold,
hair as yellow as pure gold.

As I hold her in my arms,
I will keep her from all harm.

I look into her perfect face,
And give her a name that is full of grace.

Candace:
Blessed one, loved one.
